Gsuite management

Browse the top paid and free apps on Mac web store, then download them to use on your Mac. Access all of your apps, get app updates, and manage subscriptions, all in one place. Some users in your organization might need to use a Windows or Mac machine to keep mail, calendar, and contacts up to date while they transition to Google Workspace. You can use IMAP or POP to synchronize email data. We recommend that you use IMAP—it's simpler to set up and can be used across multiple devices.

A browser designed to house all your web apps and run them more efficiently than any classic browser, with plenty of productivity-enhancing features thrown in

Since trying to keep apps out of your browser seems to be a futile effort, you might as well get a browser able to handle them all, as most of the popular options struggle to provide a seamless experience when multiple apps are open.

Sidekick was designed from the ground up to manage the multiple web apps you use at home and for work. It's based on Chromium, with all the compatibility perks that entails, but without the data collection Chrome relies on.

Built for web apps

If you're trying to run Slack, Gmail, Google Docs, Teams, Notion, and who knows what else from a regular browser, you will not have a pleasant experience. Never mind the tab clutter and cumbersome app switching, but resource usage will be mind-numbing.

Sidekick doesn't rely on tabs. Instead, your apps are all accessible from the sidebar, which works like an in-browser Dock. You can still open tabs, but they will serve their original purpose instead of separating opened apps in your browser.

Limits app resource consumption

When it comes to performance, Sidekick deals with the inherent inefficiency of in-browser apps by automatically suspending tabs you're not using at the moment, and if you have multiple similar tabs open, memory consumption should be reduced significantly.

Add or create apps, use multiple accounts, and create sessions

You'll find that pretty much all popular web apps can be added directly from the browser's collection. You can also create new apps from a tab or URL, and the process could not be simpler.

If an app doesn't support multiple accounts natively, Sidekick can get around that by running separate instances in Private Session mode, allowing you to use different credentials for each one.

Once you've set up your workspace and have everything you need at hand, you can save everything to a session, which you can then open at any time with a single click, or switch to a different one when necessary.

Browser-wide search

With everything that's going on in your browser, you might have a hard time finding something in particular. All you have to do is press ⌥F (Option+F) and start typing; Sidekick will show you relevant results from every active app and browser, and you can switch to it with a single keystroke.

Privacy is key

Since the developers don't rely on ad revenue, they have no incentive to collect your data. Your personal information is only stored locally, including your searches and browsing history.

Moreover, Sidekick comes with a built-in ad and tracker blocker, which should improve your browsing experience considerably while also minimizing the amount of personal data that is leaked to third parties.

Suitable for personal use or teams

If collaboration with others is crucial to your work, you can opt for additional features that will allow you to use shared apps and bookmarks, take advantage of built-in video call functionality, and share passwords with others securely.

Sidekick isn't the first app to try to bring all your web apps together under one cozy roof, but it's probably the best one I've tried so far. It just works, and the experience is markedly superior to the one you get in a run-of-the-mill browser.
