How To Mod A Game On Mac

If you are referring to Sims 4, and not Sims 3, you are looking in completely the wrong place. Have you launched the game yet? Launching the game creates the Electronic Arts Folder with a Sims 4 folder inside it. Inside that Sims 4 folder is the Mods folder. All Sims 4 players need Origin, not just Mac users. Mod, short for modification is a term generally applied to a customised (or altered) computer game made by the general public. A mod can range from a total conversion with new gameplay, look and feel through to minor alterations which could include new models, weapons, maps etc. Likewise, some mods and CC wont work if you do update the patch. It's not a good idea to neglect game updates though, and in most cases if it's not a universal game mod, you'll be fine. To check and see if your game is up to date, open the Sims 3 Launcher.

2. What's MOD

MOD is an informal name of tapeless video formats used by JVC, Panasonic, and Canon in some models of digital camcorders. The recording media for MOD format camcorder including Hard disk drive and solid-state memory cards. It uses MPEG-2 video compression and MPEG-1 audio compression. The video frame size in pixels including 720 x 480, 720 x 576, 704 x 480, 352 x 480 and the video frame aspect ratio is 4:3 or 16:9. The file suffix .mod is marked on the camcorder but changed to .mpg or .mpeg while imported to a computer. Compared with TOD file format, MOD is used exclusively for standard definition video files, while TOD is used for high definition files.

MOD files are a proprietary JVC video file type. Some Panasonic & Canon camcorders also use it. MOD & TOD files have always been difficult to use.

To view the files, try just changing the .mod extension to .mpg and see if that works (it often does).

How To Mod A Video Game

If you want to edit the video, you need to convert it to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec. Try using MPEG Streamclip. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest Clipwrap .

How To Make Mods For Games

If you want to edit the video files, Handbrake is definitely NOT the correct app to use because it doesn't output editable formats, and it certainly doesn't create QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec files.
